Note:  Coming from Asheville, it is faster to take the Old Fort exit to Hwy 70 East and follow the directions from the intersection of Hwy 70 and 221 - which will then have you turning left onto 221 N.

1.  From I-40 to Lake James Landing- take the #85 exit off I-40- to route 221 north, then go about 1.5 miles to the first traffic light.

2.  Turn left onto the 221 bypass route, taking this road about 4 miles to the next traffic light at 221 and Hwy 70- proceed straight through the to the next traffic light, then turn right onto business 211.  Go only about 50 yards, then turn left onto Hankins Road. 

3.  Drive on Hankins road for about 4 miles to the stop sign, then turn left onto Lake James Road.  The campground is less than a mile down this road on the right.  Enter at the gate to the right of the office.
